Story
I am honoured to be Chair of the NKF and representing thousands of renal patients throughout the UK.
As a kidney transplant recipient from my wonderful wife Jo, it has enabled me to lead a normal life compared to a life on dialysis.
Transplants are completely life changing; it is time for me to raise awareness of organ donation and its benefits.
So by helping me reach my target you will be helping us to fight against this life-threatening disease and improve treatment.
I decided to support the NKF for the same reason that I became involved. I wanted to help others going through the same renal journey I have experienced. The NKF is unique: it is patient run for patients and their families. It is a charity where patients can make a real difference for each other. There are no finer experts in renal disease than patients themselves.
The NKF supports two million people with Chronic Kidney Disease and 60,000 patients who have end stage kidney failure.
The charity also supports Dialysis and Transplanted patients and their carers.
The NKF offers a National Kidney Patients Helpline 0800 169 09 36 offering medical information leaflets, help and advice - with trained staff answering around 200 calls a week.
