I am running the Brighton marathon in 2016 for Alzheimer's Society.
This is my chosen charity because I know, first hand, what an awfully upsetting illness this is for the person with it and their family around them.
Alzheimer's/Dementia can happen to anyone and there is currently no cure. There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK and the number is set to rise to 1 million by 2021.
The Alzheimer's Society are there for anyone who is affected by dementia; they provide information and support, fund medical and social research, and campaign for better quality of life for people suffering with this condition.
