It's nearly two years since our lives changed forever. Nearly two years since that terrifying day when Angus was stillborn in a car on the road to hospital and we did all we could for him before the ambulances arrived and a new chapter started for us all. 

Angus has confounded his pediatricians by making incredible progress over the two years. He does not seem to have a learning disability and because of our hard work and the incredible generosity of so many people we have been able to give him access to some incredible therapies in the UK and US. 

He is travelling to the US three times this year spending a total of seven weeks in America. Each week he travels to London at least once. Every day he has at least one appointment. 

Despite this though he still has a very long way to go. Angus remains tube fed. At nearly two he can not sit independently and he will undoubtedly face severe challenges in the future. 

We have also struggled to access NHS support for some of his needs. Locally for example there are no communication therapies available to children under three. He also receives just three hours a year of NHS physio when in reality he needs this therapy every day. Every turn within the medical system is a battle. 

The result is a huge care bill that we have to fund. This will continue throughout Angus's life and will in some ways grow as larger and more complex equipment is required.  

So many people have done so much for us already that it is difficult to come up with new appeals but some things seem logical. 

So it is that I will be running the London Marathon in April. I enjoy running - shorter distances at least - but it does not come easy to me and my asthma and this 26 miles will be tough beyond words. 

Whatever I endure however will be as nothing compared to what Angus goes through each day and will do in the future.
