Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year is the 10th anniversary of the CKDCF (Charlie and Kathleen Dunnery Children’s Fund), a charity set up by Francis Dunnery. For those who need an introduction…Francis is a world-renowned musician from Cumbria now living in the US. The original lead singer and guitarist for It Bites in the 1980s, he has gone on to have a well-respected solo career which I have had the pleasure of following and supporting since 2002.
The charity hosts various events throughout the year, one of which is spread over a weekend in October. It culminates in a sponsored walk around Ennerdale Water, one of the most breathtaking in the Lake District. My wife Liz and I will be joining the many other hardy souls on the walk and it would be wonderful if you could show your support by donating as much as you can.
I am honoured to have been invited by Francis to perform at the Friday night event on 26th October – what better way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of both the charity and my first Francis Dunnery gig! I’ll look forward to seeing those of you who are going to be there.
Another way of contributing to the charity (apart from a direct contribution, of course) would be to purchase a copy of ‘Green and White Stripes’, the first tribute album devoted to Francis’ music. I have contributed my version of his song ‘Jonah’ featuring myself backed by a string quartet. You can purchase/download a copy here http://mentalnurse.com/greenAndwhite/index.html
Thank you in advance for doing all you can to help the charity.
