Story

I am acting as a guide runner for Ruth, who lost her sight in her thirties

We are running the Cheltenham Half and the London Marathon to raise funds for Guide Dogs. Our run is part of a bigger fund raising event, I am one of the organisers, (along with Pat and Drena Cox) of The Keith Jenkins memorial golf day held annually at Puckrup Hall Golf club in Tewkesbury.

Each year we choose a charity close to our hearts and Ruth asked if we could do it for Guide Dogs this year.

in the first we raised £400 for The Heart Foundation and over the next nine years continually increased the amount raised with the last year raising over £22,000 for MND and Sue Ryder.

In the nine years we carried out the event we raised £75,000 for different charities and have set ourselves the ambitious target of £25,000 for Guide Dogs, we will be hosting a number of fund raising events over the summer and will keep everyone up to date with when they are going happen.

Thank you all for your very kind donations!!! David

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
