We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

Please support me in raising much needed funds to help Alzheimer's Research UK fight dementia.

Before my father was diagnosed with dementia, I had no idea just how debilitating the condition can be, and how quickly it can progress.  It seems only yesterday that he was enjoying an active retirement, including sailing and cycling. The work of Alzheimer's Research UK offers hope that the suffering of my father and many like him could one day be a thing of the past.

Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading research charity aiming to defeat dementia by developing new treatments and preventions. There are 850,000 people diagnosed with dementia in the UK, and this is set to rise to over 1 million within the next 10 years.  It is the leading cause of death among women, and the third most common for men. Not surprisingly, it is the most feared condition amongst people over 55 years old.
