Story

In Memory of Emily

No more silence. Pieta believe suicide prevention must be a priority. 1 in 5 people have suicidal thoughts, and nearly 500 people in Ireland die by suicide every year. It doesn’t have to be this way.

I am running the Galway Marathon on October 5th to honour my dear friend, Emily, who tragically passed away in the summer of 2023. Emily was a vibrant soul who brought joy and laughter to those around her. Despite her struggles with mental health, she always found a way to brighten up my day with her contagious laugh.

Pieta House provided invaluable support to Emily’s family during their time of grief. Their compassionate care made a significant difference in their lives, and I am committed to giving back to this incredible organisation.

By donating to my fundraiser, you are helping to ensure that Pieta House can continue to offer vital support to individuals and families affected by suicide and self-harm. Your generosity will make a lasting impact on countless lives.

Thank you for your support.
