Hi, my name is David Wills, I have often “just given” to charities and continue to do so, but now I wanted to see if I could raise some money for people off my own back, and my chosen path is to help people who are deafblind, the things we all take for granted, and we get to experience everyday and perhaps some of us think nothing of, but I can only imagine what it would be like for people who have this disability to see the sky, or a hear someone’s voice. I am fundraising for Sense, a national charity that supports people with complex communication needs, including those who are deafblind, to be understood, connected and valued. They are there for every person who faces communication barriers in a world that relies on being able to see and hear well to be connected.
I will be trekking The RidgeWalk, which is an exhilarating 52 mile ultramarathon along the oldest national trail in Britain, the Ridgeway. I will walk for 24 hours, climbing 3,800ft through remote ancient landscapes. God knows what my feet are going to think of this walk, but knowing I am raising money for this cause and having the support from the people who sponsored me and the great work Sense provide everyday I will embrace the blisters!! So if you feel you can help and donate a few pounds we will all feel very grateful. Thanks in advance for reading my story, I will be providing updates when I can. Thanks David
