Story
I am cycling from West Bromwich to Swansea on 5th and 6th May (around 150 miles) firstly to raise money for Prostate Cancer but also a personal challenge.
Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in Wales and when there is a family history of the disease the risk increases to 1 in 3. This means that it is likely that every Swans fan knowns someone affected by this cancer.Swans Foundation wants to do its part in helping to reduce these dreadful statistics. Working in partnership with Prostate Cymru and Maggies Cancer Care, we aim to improve the early detection of prostate cancer and support families recovering from cancer. Additionally, In partnership with the Barry Kilby Prostate Cancer Appeal, which has held many events at Football Clubs around the UK, we plan to run a testing event at the Swansea.com Stadium. This will raise awareness of both prostate cancer and prostate disease, and it will help save lives. Catching prostate cancer early drastically raises chances of survival, making screenings such as these crucial for saving lives.
