The last leg to the lane
Throughout 2021 I have been taking part in a Lands End to John O Groats virtual challenge, 874miles in total. I also made a vow that while doing this challenge I would not shave my beard! By the end of this week I will be 25 miles from completion and it will be 168 days since I last shaved!
I intend to finish this challenge by running from my home in Doncaster, to my favourite place, Bramall lane, Sheffield, the home of my beloved blades. I will be doing this to raise money for the stroke association, a cause close to my heart.
In October of last year my dad suffered a life changing stroke. After working hard his whole life, he looked forward to enjoying his retirement, but only a few weeks into his retirement he suffered a stroke. So instead of relaxing, he is battling to learn how to do the basic things we all take for granted. So next Saturday I will be pushing myself for my dad, this will nothing compared to what he is going through ❤️ I hope you will all support me in this challenge.
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. That's because a stroke happens in the brain, the control centre for who we are and what we can do. It happens every five minutes in the UK and changes lives instantly.
The Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. They believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke. And its a team effort to get there.
Their specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community and the generosity of amazing people like you.
