This is my next crazy challenge. Even if you can only donate £1 please do donate, as every pound donated will truly make a difference. We need to start to get midwives throughout the UK trained, and we need money to do this.

So if you are a parent. or an aunt or uncle, or a grandparent you will very likely have been inside a maternity ward. Many of you will have had good experiences, some of you sadly will not have done.

So please dig deep and pull out a donation in thanks of your child if they were born alive and have survived, or in memory of your child if they were stillborn or died shortly after birth.

Together we really can make a difference to the bereaved parents receive in our hospitals throughout the UK.

Every pound raised in 2014 will be used to fund the bereavement training of midwives and care staff working on maternity wards throughout the UK.

Our film The Deafening Silence has provoked a massive response with many people telling us their own stories of poor care they received on maternity wards, much of this can be prevented with training. With your help we really can make a difference. £40 will cover the cost of an on-line e-learning course for a midwife. £120 will cover a half day in-house group session for up to ten midwives.
