Story

John and I are running this Marathon for Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs - they're a national charity which supports anyone concerned about someone else’s alcohol or drug use in Scotland.

They give information and advice to many people and help them with confidence, communication, and general wellbeing. They also help people recognise and understand the importance of looking after themselves.

We're both old and knackered, so this will be a laugh as we hobble our way round!!

******UPDATE****** As of 02/09/21, John has unfortunately had to withdraw from the Marathon as his pre-existing knee injury has flared up again, and he'll have to rest it ☹

I'll still be running, I'll go fast enough for both of us - 2 x slow is still slow 🤣🤣

*****Finished the marathon today in 4hrs 4mins and 13 secs, it was a tough run, but glad to do what I can to help such a worthwhile charity!!****

Huge thanks to everyone who donated, it's all much appreciated 🙏

About the charity

Family members try and do all they can to support someone with an alcohol or drug problem. There are many people in Scotland who are doing this on their own and in silence. Your donations will help us to continue our work supporting families across Scotland.
