Story

I would like, if I may to take you on a strange journey.

It seemed a fairly ordinary night when David Turner and his friend Mark Thompson, were drinking red wine and eating food in a French Alp Lodge in cold March 2023.

It's true there was white snow clouds, light, fluffy and pendulous, where they were staying with friends. It's true also that a bottle of Limoncello had materialised with shot glasses from the back of an old oak cupboard. But, they all being normal friends and on a night in, well they were not going to let a snowstorm spoil the events of their evening.

On a night in. It was a night in David was going to remember for a very long time!!

Although it seemed that fortune had smiled on David, as he had found the assistance of a naive young man- Chris Easey, who assistance in his plight of doing shots of Limoncello... he was not entirely out of the woods

There are some people who say that life is an illusion, and that reality is simply a figment of the imagination. If this is so, then David was quite safe. However, the sudden topic of the London Marathon, had him feeling apprehensive and uneasy. A feeling which grew as the conversation expanded.

Food... has always played a vital role in life's rituals. The breaking of bread - the last meal of the condemned man - and now this meal with Limoncello shots. There seemed little doubt that David was about to become Mark's Running partner for the London Marathon 2024 and fate it seems had decided that David was going to do this for a chosen charity.

And so, it would seem that David- you "Stupid Boy" has entered into the London Marathon 2024 and is on a path to collect silver, gold, gems and money (card accepted) to support his chosen charity.

But don't be fooled reader... David is a dark horse! Whilst looking at him you'd think he would struggle running a bath. This is not the case. David has run many times, 5K for fun a 10K for Alzheimer's Society and most recently a ½ Marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support and this time St Catherine's Hospice; a charity with a big ambition.

So dear reader, grab your phone and scan the QR code... this will give you more information on St Catherine's Hospice and how much David has pillaged raised.
