Story
Thank you for visiting my page.
In November 2023 we lost our beautiful daughter Kerry who had been bravely battling an angiosarcoma. During her illness Kerry underwent various treatments that extended her life for 18 months. She filled all those months with positivity, creating many happy memories with her family and friends and inspired many people with what can be achieved despite her illness.
Kerry was an accomplished runner at half marathon (13.1 miles) distance and competed in several Half Marathons with myself before her diagnosis.
In her honour and her memory I proudly announce my intention to run the full 13.1 miles once a week for every week of the year. So that’s 52 Half Marathons in 52 weeks. I ran the 1st one on 7th January 2024 and aim to complete the 52nd by 29th December 2024 completing 681.2 miles in total.
I've chosen to support Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep the specialist Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
Your donations go so far in helping the sarcoma community:
£1 could cover the cost of 10 texts to the support line.
£10 could be used to buy microscope slides to look at cells in minute detail.
£30 could fund one hour of use of a high-powered laboratory microscope.
£150 could fund the support line for a week.
Be assured that your generosity will be gratefully received and will go some way in advancing research so that eventually we can beat this nasty aggressive cruel disease that continually robs us of our loved ones.
Thank you for your support.
