Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 3 February, 2013, I will be leaping out of a plane 14,000 feet above the Lake District in order to raise money towards “Imogen’s Footprints”.
In June this year, my dear friends Natalie and Lee Englestone suffered the unimaginable tragedy of losing their baby at 33 weeks into their pregnancy. Their beautiful daughter, Imogen Olivia, was born sleeping on 13 June. If you have ever witnessed a close friend go through this tragedy you will understand the feeling of redundancy felt at not being able to help your friend when they needed it. Not being able to take away their pain or say something to make them feel better.
Well now there is something I can do to help them, and YOU can help too.
Natalie and Lee are raising funds to support SANDS, the UK’s Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity which brings a great deal of comfort to Natalie and Lee in their grief. In particular, they are raising funds to buy their local hospital a “Cuddle Cot” which allows stillborn babies to spend more time with their parents. Natalie and Lee only had a few precious hours with Imogen, whereas if there was a cuddle cot installed at their local hospital they could have spent much longer. There really is no crueller torture than a mother having to give birth to a baby she knows she won’t be taking home. The money we raise can allow other parents those extra precious minutes or hours with their baby.
Please, please sponsor me to help raise funds for this very worthy cause. Every little helps. Whether sponsoring my sky dive here, or donating through Natalie’s own page, all the money raised will go towards the same fund. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you for your time and donation.
