Story
Please note - this event was due to take place in May 2020 but COVID has meant that this will now take place in June 2021!
On 10th November 2019, the world lost a great person in the form of Thomas Edwards at the age of just 27. Tom was a close friend of mine and he had unfortunately been battling the lung condition Bronchiectasis for a number of years. Tom also survived cancer as a child and was an inspiration to us all.
Despite the hand that Tom was dealt in life, he was rarely seen without a smile on his face and he always put other's needs before his own. There are so many positive memories that I will cherish forever and the time that we got to spend with Tom was special. He was a great friend and even better fiancee to Jess and is missed greatly by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting him.
I will be taking part in this walk along with his Fiancee (Jess), friend (Shaun), and his sister (Sian). This will be a special day for us all and we hope to raise as much money as possible for the British Lung Foundation whilst conquering the tallest mountain in Tom's beloved Wales!
As it stands, there is no cure for Bronchiectasis and it affects approximately 5 in 1,000 adults in the UK. Therefore, it is vital that money is raised to aid further research and support for those who have the condition.
