Story
Many thanks for viewing my World Cancer Research Fund Just Giving page.
Well here we go again my second commitment to run the London Marathon. This year it will be held on Sunday October 2nd.
The personal motivation for me running the London marathon for the second time is in knowing that all money raised will help prevent others going through the terrible consequences of cancer treatment & in too many cases the loss of loved ones!
Aged 20, my wife Tina lost her mum Barbara to breast cancer at the age of 51.My “Diddy” granddad & Diddy Nan both died of cancer (they were always called Diddy). My uncle Ben died of bowel cancer. Within our family we have sadly lost many loved ones who died from cancer! It is a sad fact that we are all likely to know of family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues or someone who has undergone the ravages of cancer.
As for me personally I am back running again and will soon be starting my scheduled training programme with my good friend Lewis, who will be entering his fourth London Marathon, also running for World Cancer Research Fund. Our commitment together is to raise awareness of the vital need for funding so that we can contribute to saving the loss of lives to cancer.
I thank you so much to all of you who have donated towards the fantastic work the charity does and whatever you are able to give will make a great difference.
Love David ‘Sheaman’ Shea
