Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This summer (13th - 17th June) I will be taking up a huge challenge and will attempt to complete the London to Paris bike ride http://www.skylineoverseas.co.uk/cycle-paris.aspx
The minimum sponsorship I need to be able to join the ride is £1400 which I need to have mostly together by the end of April. I will be riding for charity and donations will be going to the Cure Parkinson's Trust.
This is a charity that is close to my heart having found out last year that my Gran has Parkinson's. My Gran is particularly unhappy about Parkinson's as she has to endure my Grandad on the weekends these days as she cant escape to the golf course anymore, which was impressive for a woman in her late 70's.
So, for those of you who don't know me, I'm not much of a cyclist or healthy for that matter. I got my bike in August last year and managed to do a few miles before the winter closed in.
Its been a few years since I did anything really physically challenging so challenge number 2 is to get my physical health up to a par. That means I need to start training to get myself to a point where I can do at least 80 miles before I head to Paris. This includes giving up my first favourite past time..... smoking....
And if you've never seen me, I weigh a little over 15 stone. Anyone that cycles can tell you its harder to cycle the heavier you are, especially when you are trying to pedal that 15 stone up a big hill!!! So challenge 3 before I go to France. I need to loose 2 stone as a minimum.
Then on to the ride and challenge number 4.......
Connecting two of the world's most chic capital cities the London to Paris bike ride covers around 300 miles in 4 days.
The following gives you a brief taste of the ride
Day 1: London to Calais
The challenge begins bright and early from Crystal Palace heading south en route to the coast. 90 miles (approx)
