Some of you will know that I undertook ‘Fashion Peddlars’ last year and crashed on the 3rd day at 30.4mph, with a fellow rider rolling over me (very Tour d’ France).
This was followed by a 5 hour stint at a Dutch hospital, several x-rays, many pain killers and bandages. Whilst lying in the hospital bed I vowed not to take part again!!
However, my blood and sweat and people’s very kind donations raised over £2k and as a Group we raised over £50k.
Obviously the knock to my head was not hard enough (although the helmet did split in 3 places) as I have been persuaded my some of my colleagues to take part again to help this year’s ‘newbie’s’.
This will be my last year as I am conscious that I have asked people to donate last year and it is not fair to keep asking people for money.
The 200 mile ride this year over the hills between Weymouth to London via some New Look stores on the way will be a challenge as I have not been on my road bike since the accident last year and I have been a little busy at work with a refinancing process which meant lots of overtime and a distinct lack of exercise!
I would be very grateful if you could sponsor me and help raise money for a fantastic charity.
Kind regards
David
