Story
We are raising money for Ward 78 of the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH) where Joseph (David's son and Sarah's nephew and Godson) was treated for hydrocephalus. At only 6 weeks old, Joseph underwent life saving brain surgery by Mr Kitchen, who fitted a shunt to drain the excess fluid on his brain. At 8 months old he had further brain surgery, Mr Kitchen undertaking an Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy (ETV) and continues to be under the care of Mr Kitchen. Joseph is now 2 and doing very well. The treatment Joseph has received from the RMCH has been incredible and we feel eternally grateful to the staff on the ward that looked after Joseph. We are running the London marathon for the RMCH to give back something in thanks for the exceptional care and treatment Joseph has received over the last 2 years, as without it, he wouldn’t be here, bringing so much love and joy into our lives.
