Just a note to say that I finished the Cardiff Half marathon in just 2 hours, 3 mins and 17 seconds – Easy. Well, not really easy but I have done it!

It seems I was 133^rd in my age group [55-59 yrs] and finished overall 8,803^rd out of 11,155 starters so I am quite pleased with myself and wish to say THANK YOU for your support of both me and Yorkshire Cancer.

The route was all through Cardiff, Bute Park and down to go over the new Bay barrage, really interesting, and the weather was really good too, sunny and cool.

I ache a bit now so will have an early night.

I am doing the Cardiff Half Marathon on 17 October 2010 in support of Yorkshire Cancer. I have never been this far without a car before and want to raise money for this particular charity as a tribute to my cousin, John Fryer, who died earlier this year at only 58.

So far I have been training three times a week and progressed from 3 to 7 miles, it is not easy, specially at my age, but I feel I am doing something worthwhile and hope that you will support me in raising money for cancer research.

I do not have a target finish time, please don't ask! I am just determined to run all the way and get to the end.
