The Birmingham Transplant Centre will be a national centre of excellence for organ transplantation. It will put patient care at the forefront of transplantation and will create a 'one stop shop' for patients undergoing organ transplants.

Story

We are devastated at the loss of our beloved Dave. Dave had been an inpatient at the QE in Birmingham since October 21 and received a heart transplant in February 22. He put up the bravest fight until the very end and so we want to continue to raise as much money in his memory.  We will love and miss him forever. ❤️

Birmingham Transplant Centre will be a national centre of excellence for organ transplantation, and will be funded in its entirety by UHB Charity. It will put patient care at the forefront of transplantation and will create a one stop shop for patients undergoing organ transplants.UHB Charity want to bring all of the specialist care available to the patient, taking away a huge amount of stress and therefore speeding up recovery time. The new centre will bring all the specialist care to patients, including pre-transplant consultations, additional fitness classes before surgery, patient support groups, and rehabilitation classes after surgery.

About the charity

University Hospitals Birmingham Charity supports four hospitals in Birmingham - Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Good Hope, and Solihull. We support the patients, families and staff at our hospitals by providing 'added extras' that are over and above those which are provided by the NHS.
