Piece of String, 1 November 2014
We raise funds for our village school to improve the levels of facilities and fun

Story

On 1st November I'll be taking part in the 3rd Piece of String Fun Run.  How "fun" it will be is open to debate, as it's one of the more extreme endurance events in the UK.

Billed as "the world's most pointless race", the Piece of String is an ultramarathon where the runners aren't told the distance until they cross the finish line.  Last year that was after 135 miles.

I'm fundraising for three great charities.   This page is for FOSRS, which is the parent's association of our village school, where I'm a governor.  Inadequate capital funding for schools is a constant issue, and I am raising money towards the ongoing improvement of our facilities.

About the charity

FOSRS contributes to the life of the school as well as raising funds to benefit the children who attend it. We are very proud of what we have achieved, and would like to thank the parents and the surrounding community for their continued support.
