Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Polio is a viral disease  that affects children, either causing life long disability through paralysis or death in severe cases. Rotary has taken a lead role in aiming to eradicate polio by the vaccination of every child born in the world since 1988 when 1000 new cases were occurring every day!  Rotary Clubs around the world have raised £1.6 billion to support the vaccination programme and in 2021 only a handful  of cases occurred. Rotary is committed to continuing funding until there has been no new cases for three years when history will be made and the World declared free of Polio.

Rotary in Cheltenham, in our Centenary year, is aiming to lay down a mile of 1foot strips bearing £5 of coins on Saturday 28th May 2022. 5280 strips are needed to complete the mile so we really need your contribution. Each £5 donation will buy one pre-printed strip which will be added to the total to help reach our target.

Every pound raised by our Mile of Coins will be paid into the End Polio  Campaign as all our costs have been provided through sponsorship.
