Penny farthing century ride · 14 May 2022

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

My Dad is suffering with vascular dementia and Alzheimer's. It is so sad to see this happen, he was such an intelligent man and he is now a shadow of his former self.

I have decided to raise some money for the Alzheimer's society so that hopefully one day others in his position have a brighter future than he has now.

For my fund raising event I plan to ride my penny farthing bike 100 miles in one ride, on one day.

It's  a tough challenge but I am very determined and I am absolutely confident that I can do it.

I plan to train for the ride over the next 9 months and do the ride on the 14th of May. I will update this page regularly as my plans become more set in stone.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
