Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in Jeff’s Stellings March for men on August 30th in memory of my cousin Lloyd Pinder who lost his long fight against Prostate cancer last year aged only 49 and to carry on to raising awareness of this awful disease and hopefully help saving lives . We will be walking 26 miles from St James park Newcastle to Durham cricket club and finishing at Lloyds beloved stadium of light
Lloyd was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in 2016 with no real obvious symptoms which was unfortunately realised to be terminal .
Being the person he was Lloyd not only fought like a lion but also he went head on into raising awareness and in the process raising lots of money for prostate cancer UK . It was his selfless attitude getting the word out there about prostate cancer , about his situation and how much he didn’t want other men to suffer this illness and for the hurt that many families have had to suffer when such a devastating diagnosis hits them .
My cousin lost his fight last year leaving Tina and his 2 girls Gracie and Lola aged just 49 . Losing Lloyd has left a huge void in all of our lives and everyone’s lives he has touched.
I'm very proud to be able to take part in this March for men with a group of fantastic people all pulling together to carry Lloyds message he tirelessly and selflessly pushed to raise awareness and save lives.
Lloyds story can be found on prostate cancer UKs website or simply google Lloyd Pinder
I feel proud and extremely lucky I had Lloyd part of my life and by raising awareness and getting checked it will hopefully save families having to suffer losing a Lloyd Pinder it leaves a huge hole that can’t be filled
