Lapland Husky Trail Challenge · 25 March 2022

Highland Hospice provides specialist care and support to terminally ill patients and their families in the Highlands. We have an In Patient Unit in Inverness, provide day care across the region and offer bereavement counselling for relatives. We aim to provide dignity when time matters most.

Story

So Myself David Philips and a close friend have signed up for a challenge to raise money in aid of the Highland Hospice (a charity close to all our hearts) and the fantastic work they do in our community.

In March of 2022 we will join a team in Norway with the aim to complete the Lapland Husky trail challenge. The trail itself begins in Norway and covers over 250km-Dog sledding all the way into Sweden. This all takes place well inside the Artic circle and in the wild where we will Dog sled, make and break camp and care for our teams of Huskies whilst hitting daily targets towards the 250km goal in extreme low temps and potential adverse Weather.

During this year we will be training to a schedule to improve on both cardiovascular and Strength performance so that we’re in Top condition and ready for what’s ahead. On top of the training we will be completing several fundraising events to help move us towards our target of £12000+(£4000 per person) Some cracking ideas we have for this already.

Please dig deep and help me/us to hit our Donation target for our chosen charity - The Highland Hospice.
