Story
A few months ago my dad was taken ill and rushed into hospital. He was suffering from shortness of breath and an unrelenting cough. After being treated for Sepsis we later found that the root cause was High Grade Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, wreaking havoc on his immune system and ultimately turning his life upside down.
In a cruel twist of fate my younger sister was also being assessed for a growth in one of her lymph nodes and was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma just to complete the set. She's just 27 and it's been heart wrenching to see how it's preventing her from getting out there and enjoying herself like she deserves to.
To say this whole experience has been hard on the family would be an understatement but the way they've approached it with such dignity and humour is admirable, rocking their matching 'Hodgy' & 'Non-Hodgy' hats and remaining so positive throughout treatment.
We're optimistic about their recovery thanks to the excellent treatment they've received and the information we've been able to access, and since there isn't really anything practical I can do to help I would be extremely greatful for any donations to this cause in order to raise awareness and continue the great work of Lymphoma Action.
