Choosing to run the MK marathon and raise awareness for Keech Hospice is the easiest decision I've made this year. When Michelle Cushing, friend, work colleague to my wife and mother of twin boys in the football team that I coach for was no longer able to live at home whilst fighting against cancer, she moved into Keech Hospice. The boys described it as a hospital hotel, and to be honest they have thought of everything to make their patients as comfortable as possible in a home from home environment. Sadly, Michelle lost her courageous battle on 14th January and her family would like to help repay the care that Keech provided her by raising £40,000, so I'm trying to help them with that.

Keech is totally reliant on charity and sponsorship to cover it's £6.2 million per annum running costs, but when you see just how much that helps to provide comfort and dignity to the terminally ill and their families as well as the facilities for day care patients, children and the work that they do in the community, it is worth every penny. I have heard numerous people describe the staff as Angels, and the reputation that Keech has is testament to the work that they do and the thought that goes into caring for their patients and their families.
