Story

Thanks for visiting my page. For all of you that aren’t aware, suddenly in 2019, My family and I lost someone very dear to us, far too soon. Jono was a fit and healthy young man with the world at his feet. A competitive body builder and personal trainer,  who took part in numerous competitions displaying his hard work and extraordinary physique. He passed suddenly in his sleep, with no warning to a condition called SADS - Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome. Leaving behind his partner, two children and a loving family. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research as they carry out extensive research in this condition and offer genetics testing along with emotional support for anyone involved in the loss of a loved one.

Jono ‘Boyband’ turned his life around, from being over weight, to educating himself extensively in the field, qualifying as an IFBB accredited fitness trainer. He dedicated his time to contouring his physique and helping others in conditioning their physiques to achieve their ultimate goal.

I have taken on this challenge to help channel my emotions into achieving something positive just like Jono did! I aim to use the training for this challenge to help me with my grieving. Using his loss as motivation, to inspire me to get fitter, get thinner, and achieve my goal of getting across the finish line 100km away in one day. The 61mile trail begins at 7am on the Saturday and we don’t stop until we reach that finish line, choosing to do the ‘continuous’ option instead of the 2 day split option

I will be taking on the challenge as part of a team, with one of Jono’s oldest friends Becki, together we will form the team ‘Don’t be SADS’. Jono was a pivotal part of her childhood and Becki remained one of his best friends all the way through his life. We will support each other through every cm of the gruelling non stop 100km trail. I’m sure you will all show her the same support as me!

We will need everyone’s support for this challenge!!!!!

Everyone who probably looks at me and says he’s too fat - I may be! He’s not fit enough - no where near at the minute! He must be mental - not quite! 100km in one day is impossible - definitely not

Let me tell you this! I’m  Just a man on a mission for a brother he very dearly misses!!

Put your money where your mouth is!! I will do this for every single one of you for believing in me, to help raise money for a charity that may one day prevent such things happening to you, or one of your loved ones!

I thank you from the bottom of our hearts and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit and even surpass my target.

Much love x
