Story
I'm raising money for the Maggie's Centres as they do amazing work supporting cancer patients and their families. I had my own brush with cancer 5 years ago and Maggie's was there for me every step of the way. Since then, I've also lost a good friend to cancer and I know that Maggie's has been a huge comfort to her kids. Running is a great way of coping with fear and anxiety, even the shock of a cancer diagnosis, so it seems fitting to use my biggest ever running challenge as an opportunity to raise money for Maggie's.
I've been training for the Glencoe Marathon for the past 3-4 months with my running buddies, Gerry and Siobhan. It's been tough work but great fun at the same time. The marathon is 26.2 miles along the West Highland Way from Fort William to the ski centre in Glencoe and there's almost 5000 feet of climbing. Gulp! Check out the shock and awe of it here: https://glencoemarathon.co.uk/.
