Story
I think of myself as a private person but I’m going to be as open as I can on this page.
Most people know that my beautiful wife Anita passed away on 28th March 23 after losing her battle against Lymphoma. She was 43 years old when this cruel disease took her and in the last few days of her life she was unable to move or talk which was absolutely heartbreaking 😞.
Two images will stay in my mind forever as I was powerless to do anything…
On the Thursday before Ani passed away we managed to get her home from the hospice for a couple of hours but I will never forget the look on her face when she had to go back. It was devastating as she knew she would never get home again.
Then on Tuesday 28th March, Seconds before Ani passed away she looked at me and she shed a tear and she knew what was about to happen 😞.
I was holding her hand and I’ll be honest I totally broke down!
I lost the love of my life, my perfect partner and the mother of my young boys.
Big Jonno used to call me the Cliff Richard of the job as he thought I’d be a batchelor for life! That all changed the moment I met my Ani and to have her taken away has left a whole in my heart that can never be filled and happiness has now gone from my life.
I wish I had the brains or power to help stop cancer but I’m not the cleverest of blokes or very inventive so I can’t do much to help other than try raise money.
Ani and I ran the London marathon in 2018 and she loved every minute so in memory of her I want to run it again and help raise funds for Lymphoma action.
I know times are tight and people have sponsored ourselves for charity events in the past but if you can spare anything for the charity even if it’s a pound our family and Lymphoma action will be eternally grateful.
The training will be tough due to having the two young boys as most of it will be on the treadmill early in the morning before I go to work. But To put into context how quick anyone’s life can change……
On the evening of Wednesday 20th July 2022 Ani was enjoying a run around Croxby. The following day she collapsed outside our neighbours!!
