Story
Running a marathon ... in Paris ... great idea! I'm currently undertaking a 16 week training plan which involves running, on average, 35 miles a week (that's over 550 miles in total!!!) including 2 half-marathons (York - cancelled due to snow! Silverstone - 1:34:36, new PB!) and a 20 mile race (Ashby20 - 2:33:47), after that it's just the big 26.2 in Paris ... this will NOT be easy! Your donations will push me all the way and help a very worthy charity.
In 2009 a close friend of mine lost his brother, Sam, in a road traffic accident. Sam's wife Faye was in the car with him, she was 8 months pregnant at the time. The fast response and skilled work of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance not only saved Faye's life, but also enabled her to safely give birth to their son, Zac, that same day.
The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance receives no direct Government or National Lottery funding. They rely on the generosity of the public to help raise the £1.5 million a year it costs to keep flying. In remote and rural areas the speed at which it arrives is critical and often is the difference between life and death.
