Event: Great North Run 2023, on 10 September 2023
I am running the 2023 Great North Run for WellChild because they improve the lives of seriously ill children.

Story

WellChild Childrens Nurses provide essential care and practical support to children and young people requiring long-term or complex care. They play a crucial role in enabling children to leave hospital and be cared for at home, reducing the practical, emotional and financial impact for families. WellChild is also committed to funding high quality, innovative projects designed to have a positive impact for seriously ill children both now and in the future. This includes WellChilds Helping Hands programme which continues to go from strength to strength, working with volunteers from companies and organisations across the country to tackle essential projects in the homes of children with serious illness. Those volunteers provide the manpower and enthusiasm for projects such as bedroom and garden makeovers.

As i'm relativly new to this running thing, i've taken it onboard to inprove my health and wellbeing as well as raising valuable funds for those that need it. It is with great pride that I feel able to compete and raise charity funds at my age of 53 having only taken up running at 51. Let this be inspiration for anybody that feels that it is too late to change your own fitness and well-being journey. It isn't. You can do it too.

Thanks so much for your continued support! xx
