Story
I'm running the Virgin London Marathon in April for Headway, the brain injury association. Headway is a charity that helps victims of traumatic brain injury. Every year nearly 1 million people go to hospital having suffered a head injury, of these nearly 135,000 have suffered a traumatic brain injury. Brain injury can cause problems with mobility, speech, memory and concentration and lead to conditions such as epilepsy. Many families struggle to cope with these injuries, financially and emotionally. Headway helps these families in a number of ways including rehabilitation programmes, carer support, community outreach and respite care. Please give generously and hopefully the money raised will have a real impact.
My training is not going very well! I'm up to fifteen miles with just under a month to left, only another eleven to go now! On top of this I'm having some serious chafe issues! My i-Pod is broken, I've got horrible blisters and it seems to start raining everytime I put my running gear on. Please dig deep and give generously as this race might just finish me off!
