Story
It is nearly 10 years since my sister-in-law, Sallie's sister, passed away with breast cancer at the age of 51. Since then both her children Chris & Grace have got married and she has 2 grandchildren, Henry and Poppy.
We want to do all that we can to spare other families the same pain of losing a loved one. Taking part in this challenge will help to raise funds for East Cheshire Hospice where Julie was so well cared for and is also my way of saying thank you.
The details of the trek
The trek in the Moroccan Sahara this November, will be two full days and two half days trekking across ancient dried up river beds, sand dunes and vast sun-baked plains.
The Community Project
We will spend two days helping a community project in Marrakech, supporting vulnerable young people with education and vocational training after they have been orphaned, abused or rejected by their family.

Who is East Cheshire Hospice?
Since 1988, East Cheshire Hospice has been caring for people suffering from life-limiting illnesses. We put our patients, their carers and families at the centre of everything we do, and our expert medical treatment is only the start of the holistic care we provide.
We prioritise each patient’s needs and wishes, aiming to improve overall quality of life with practical assistance, emotional and spiritual support. At a time when family is so important, we also support carers and relatives with social and family services, counselling, complementary therapies and much more.
All of our services are provided free of charge to those who need them. However, only 17% of our funding is from the government and the remainder is donated by the communities we serve: Buxton, Congleton, High Legh, High Peak, Knutsford, Macclesfield, Poynton, Wilmslow and everywhere in between.
