Story
The UK Tour
In July 2013, 25 riders and a support team set off from the National Police Memorial in London; making the journey for the first time across six counties to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. They raised £10,000 for Care of Police Survivors (UK). Following the success of the ride a committee was formed to take the idea forward.
In July 2014, the tour included representatives from Police Forces around the UK, raising in excess of £45,000 to aid the work of Care of Police Survivors (UK) and in July 2015, over 100 riders from 4 different chapters representing UK police forces presented a cheque for £75,000.
The riders taking part in this challenge has risen every year as has the sums raised for this fantastic charity.
The tragic events of the 22nd March 2017 have highlighted the dangers facing police officers and the need to support this charity for those left behind,
This year over 25 staff and officers from South Wales Police together with colleagues from Gwent, Dyfed Powys and North Wales Police, will, in their own time cycle 200 miles from Brecon to Staffordshire to pay their respects at the National Police memorial and raise money for COPS.
