We provide welfare for ex-Gurkhas in need to ensure they live in dignity and security

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As President of the Birmingham Insurance Institute I am supporting The Gurkha Welfare Trust. The Gurkhas have fought with the British Army since 1815. In World War Two 40 battalions of Gurkhas came from the tiny kingdom of Nepal to help us in our hour of greatest need. many lost their lives, and those that survived returned to nepal and live their final years in poverty. We owe them so much, so please give as much support as you can.

As part of my personal effort to raise some money I and a friend, Tim Tilley, took part in the South Shropshire Sprint Triathlon on 27th September 2009, and we both finished!! This is the first time I have taken part in such an event, so I am grateful for your kind support. It eased the pain - though not very much!

I will keep updating the amount raised offline as this is still increasing.
