Story

I'm 50 in June 2012. To 'celebrate' I'm going to make this epic journey starting on May 28th. It's 100 miles – Poole to Weymouth and back - and will take me around 6 days. I'll wild camp on beaches, carrying everything I need. I have a Prijon Seayak kayak, a 1 man pop up tent, 2 billycans, a petrol fuelled stove, a heavy duty kettle, a tide times table – everything I need.

All in aid of The Salvation Army's Annual Appeal which funds our church and community work in some of our smaller settings. Many wonderful things happen in these places, done for the love of God, usually by Salvation Army soldiers and volunteers whose dedication is astounding. I’m honoured to have known many such as this, and hope my effort is an encouragement to them to carry on.

Thanks for your help.
