Story
I am running the Virgin Money London Marathon for the Royal National Lifeboat Institute. As you might be aware I am part of the Southend on sea lifeboat crew. The RNLI is an invaluable charity service provided for saving lives at sea.
In 2016 alone 228,869 hours were spent at sea given to rescues and exercises by crew members and 8,643 people were rescued by lifeboat crews. In 2016 the total expenditure for the RNLI was £177.3 million all of which is sourced through generous donations.
Having been affiliated with the water for the majority of my life and witnessing first hand the dangers that come with the sea, I have decided to help fundraise for this essential service.
Any donations are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
David
