This is the 2nd time i've run for the Meningitis Trust at the Great North Run. It's a fantastic event and this year i'm running as part of the Alexis Rose Tribute fundrasing team. Several years ago my younger sister Lillie-Beth conracted meningitis, after a painstaking length of time, Lil pulled through and is luckily still with us.

To be brought so close to effects of Meningitis was truly eye-opening for my family and although luck was on our side, the thought that it could have easily gone the other is what drives myself and Lil's family. We have fundraised for the Meningitis Trust for years after in aid of the support that we and many families have receieved as well the efforts they are putting into curing Meningitis.
