Story

This year, our company, Hall & Woodhouse, is trying to raise £100,000 to support their amazing work and the final event of this fundraising year is a mass skydive on the 25th May.

I am skydiving on that day as I have a real terror of heights and I know lots of people would enjoy seeing me thrown out of a plane and may sponsor me to ensure this happens. I am funding the cost of the skydive personally so all funds raised will go direct to Naomi House & Jacks place.

Naomi House and jacksplace are hospices that provide support across the seven counties of Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Surrey, West Sussex and Wiltshire to children and teenagers with conditions that mean they are unlikely to live to become adults.

There are two purpose-built specialist units (Naomi House for children, and jacksplace for teenagers/young adults) which offer environments appropriate for each age group.

The great thing about both hospices is that they are designed to allow children and young adults to do and experience all the things that they should and which are not available to them. For example they have a huge stock of themed bed linen - so if a child likes TinTin, when he arrives his bed is made with TinTin sheets and duvets. The coridors are designed so wheelchairs can travel side by side - so they can "walk" next to their friends - a simple thing they can't do elsewhere.
