Story
As an update for anyone stumbling across this page - we did it! 23 hours in total. 11 hours and 40minutes of walking and climbing in seriously bad weather conditions. Scafell was a challenge and a half, having done it 3 times to practice all normal routes cut off so we had to improvise and climb Lingfell Scar. All done and all good - thanks for sponsorship! You can also see and read more on virgin giving site ;)
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Myself and 3 friends have decided to challenge ourselves this month and climb the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales. Namely Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon and just to make it a little harder we will do this in less than 24 hours. Or that's the plan!
The reason for doing this and for this specific charity relates to the fact we know a friend is bravely fighting this terrible and indiscriminant disease. At just 34 and a mother of 2 children this was devastating news and consequently we wish to support the charity that provides much needed help at this time.
This charity not only provides great support and the much needed research but it has proven track record with over 50 years of experience. When the charity started in 1960 the survival rates of children diagnosed with leukaemia was extremely low but thanks to their research this has significantly improved. You cannot help but sit up and be extremely greatful to advances in fields of medical research that save and extend lives every day, especially when you have children yourself. .
So please dig deep and donate now to help them continue with this amazing work.
