Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be cycling the North Coast 500 to raise money for Antonine Court - and the final amount raised will be doubled by Competence Matters Ltd!
The North Coast 500, often described as Scotland’s Route 66, is a 516 mile long route starting and finishing at Inverness.
I will be cycling for 10 days covering roughly 50 miles per day, starting from Inverness to Achnasheen then to Applecross, to Talladale, Ullapool, Lochinver, Durness, Reay, Wick, Dornoch and finally arriving back to Inverness.
I will be raising money for Antonine Court, Antonine is a community based organisation that provided day opportunities for people with a learning or physical disability living in the West of Glasgow, east and west Dunbartonshire and any other adjacent local authority.
This charity is very special as it caters not only for people with disabilities but also for those with extremely complex needs. The centre is a lifeline, not just for the service users but for the families who dedicate their lives to looking after their loved ones. It facilitates access to much needed respite for those in our community less fortunate that most. However, Like many building used for this type of activity the centre is in always in need to continuous maintenance and repair and is now showing its age. The Board of Directors have embarked on an ambitious plan to raise funds to build a brand new facility and to expand the capacity of the centre to meet the demands of the surrounding communities. We have already begun the process of raising funds and have made good progress so far, however we have a long way to go and any assistance you could provide would be gratefully received.
