York 10K 2022
Campaign by York RSPCA Animals Home (RCN 232222)
Do you enjoy running? Do you want to run for a great cause? The York 10K is the perfect place to do that while raising vital funds for York Animal Home. As an independent charity, we are responsible for raising the funds we need to keep operating.

Story

At the start of May 2022 I began to follow the couch to 5k training programme, aimed at getting people like myself off the couch and able to run for 30 minutes + in order to run 5km.

I’ve had 41 years of little to no exercise, and I was very overweight. From not being able to run for 30 seconds, I have now achieved 5km and want to push myself even further. It would be wonderful to get your support to not only motivate me to achieve something I never thought was possible, but also to raise money for a great cause. Thank you for your support!

At the RSPCA York, Harrogate & District Branch we never give up on a re-homeable animal. Animals come in to us in three main ways: Brought in by inspectors after the animals have been rescued from a unfit environment; handed over by owners who can no longer meets the needs of their pet and animals that are found injured or abandoned brought in by concerned members of the public. Here at York Animal Home, we are an independent charity and primarily self funded. The money we spend on our work at the home is raised in York, Harrogate and surrounding areas. We rehome on average 400-500 animals a year into their forever homes. Please help us show these animals a life they deserve.
