Story

Thanks for visiting our page its truly appreciated.
The Afton Ladies and New Cumnock road runners and fundraisers
Are raising funds and awareness to Sarcoma in memory of my amazing and beautiful wife Lauren inspired by her determination to overcome her illness and the way she handled everything she had to put up with loved and missed every second of every day .

Doing a 10 mile a day run for 9 days as a challenge for myself
For bone cancer awareness week Completed made it 10 days.

What is Sarcoma’s? Sarcoma are uncommon cancers that can affect any part of the body,on the inside or the outside including the muscle bone tendons blood vessels and fatty tissue.often misdiagnosed hard to detect Awareness to this disease matters.

We have chosen to run the Amsterdam Marathon in 2021 to raise much needed funds and Awareness to bone cancer in memory of my wife Lauren who battled Ewings Sarcoma bone cancer for 3 and a half years sadly Lauren passed away in January 2019 .Lauren was a inspiration to many always smiling playing down the illness she always said am fine her focus was alway to get better no matter the challenges her illness brought Lauren just got on way things..Lauren was a amazing mum to Ellie who was everything to Lauren she was a loving wife who changed me in so many positive ways and I am so grateful for that I am sure she wasn’t finished fixing me This was Laurens caring nature so understanding beautiful in side and out
Lauren was a amazing Daughter sister aunt and granddaughter and friend missed every second of everyday

,
Lauren was a good support to other sufferers going through the same doing talks on her condition and treatment for the NHS and a bone cancer charity this would have been extremely tough for Lauren It was hard just listening in the audience for ellie and myself but Lauren did it with a smile
Lauren was wanting to raise Awareness to bone cancer it took 9 months for Lauren to get the diagnosed this is to long
Thats why Sarcoma’ Awareness matters its to often the same story this needs to change a quick diagnosis can be the difference. You can help us raise Awareness and support Sarcoma patients going through treatment also find better treatments thanks for your support.

As hard as life is sometimes be grateful for your health and happiness tell your family and friends you love them forgive often life can change in the blink of a eye.enjoy the Little things in life because one day you may come to understand they where the big things in life
