Story

I am excited to announce that I am returning to raising funds and awareness for the ME Asscociation with a brand new running challenge and this time it's tougher than ever!

2016 Saw me literally tumble around Oxford Half Marathon (if you don't know the story ask me over a beer). 2017 saw me run over 1000 miles. 2018 saw 4 marathons in a Month. So what next? The Full Ox Epic in May that's what!

Let me explain... My fave purveyor of races White Star Running, do a great 3 day weekend of challenging trail running on the Rushmoor Estate Dorset: A 6.5mile race in the dark, a 50mile Ultra, A 6.5 miler in the Light and a Half Marathon. Now if you do the 50 and any of the other 3 races, you get an extra Epic medal. If you are a real nutter you can do all 4 races for the FULL EPIC. This is what I've signed up to. I genuinely don't know if I can do it this time but I'll give it my best shot!

While all this running is great fun, the most important thing to me is raising funds and awareness and funds for The ME Association. Sandra my wife suffers from this cruel illness. ME (Myalgic Encephalopathy), or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, blights the lives of 250,000 people in UK today. The smallest exertion can floor them; their joints and muscles ache unbearably; restful sleep eludes them; and ‘brain fog’ clouds their thinking. It changes lives drastically – disrupting study; making work impossible; and straining family relations to breaking point. Many sufferers cannot leave their homes. There is no known cure. Please help us to help them.

The ME Association campaigns hard to get ME recognised as a severe neurological illness. Our helpline provides essential information and support to adults and children who have ME/CFS, and to their families and carers. We also fund biomedical research into the physical nature and causes of ME/CFS.
