Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
By now you'll probably know that I'm doing a little run on 25th April...... the Londaon Marathon, along with 36,000 other runners!
I don't normally come round asking for sponsorship for any of the races I do, but this time it's different.
What you probably don't know is that my son Simon died before his first birthday from what is broadly called "Cot Death" or "Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)". You probably don't know this because it happened 26 years ago and it's not something that comes up in conversation every day, but that doesn't mean he is forgotten.
So for the first time I'm running a race in remembrance of Simon.
Based on a 25 mile run a week ago I'm quietly confident that I'll finish in under 4 hours (hopefully 3 hours 45 minutes!) and any sponsorship you can give me will help in those last difficult miles.
The charity I've chosen was very supportive during those terrible weeks and months after Simon died and the research they have done has significantly reduced SIDS over the last 25 years.
They are a small organisation with only 61 runners in this year's London Marathon so all donations will be much appreciated.
I'll be running in my Midhurst Milers shirt and it will be the only one in the race so watch the TV and see if you can spot me!
