Story
Strange to think that last April I applied to take part in the London Marathon with assurances from others that "you'll only get the picked the second time you apply". Well bugger, as luck would have it I'm locked into running 26.3 miles on April 13th... and I'm so excited to do it!
Now I'm normally not a fan of fundraising, it's awkward and makes me feel weird, plus trying to get people to donate calls for subtle skills in persuasion in which I am seriously lacking. I mean I have no idea on how to tug at people's heart strings, oh by the way have you seen this video of puppies?

Aww bless. Anyway I've decided to be just honest. When I found out I was in the marathon I started training for me, so I could do something awesome and tick off 'run a marathon' on my hypothetical 'things I need to do' list. But then I received A LOT of letters and e mails from charities asking me to run for them. I looked through a few but these were massive charities that will have lots of people running anyway.
Until I found Children with Cancer UK.
Now some of you know my family have had a couple of run ins with this disease, my Mum fought it and won a while back and my uncle sadly lost his personal battle last year. Cancer does so much damage to a grown person but think about children who are diagnosed with it, what on Earth must that be like for them? Some charities fund research to cure cancer and that's amazing and one day it will happen. But in the meantime there are children out there fighting it with everything they have and I feel honoured to run for them.
Damn that was pretty heavy, quick SAWING ORANG UTAN INTERLUDE!

Awesome.
So, if you can donate on my just giving page and come along on April 13th and watch/cheer/jeer me as I stumble around London, swearing profusely, covered in sweat and tears whilst trying not to fall over that would be fantastic. I mean when am I ever going to do this again?
