Story
This April we are running the London Marathon to raise funds and awareness for Clic Sargent whose mission it is to support young people from diagnosis onwards and aims to help their families deal with the impact of cancer, its treatment, life after treatment and in some cases, bereavement.
So why are we doing this?
Dali: "Karim always said he was going to run the London Marathon. Even after doctors said it was impossible due to osteosarcoma (bone cancer) and having a titanium leg implant. Running the marathon wasn't something I wanted to do but like any good brother; I'm going to take one for the team and run in his place. I'm sure I'll be cursing him during the long cold training runs, but when I'm standing on that start line, my heart bursting with pride...I'm going to run harder and faster than I have ever done before (sorry Dave). Knowing that he will be looking down on me giving me strength. I'd like to say thank you to "Clic Sargent" for supporting my family when we needed it most. I will be forever grateful."
David: "Why?...Bloody Dali. Yeah he talked me into it....Dali talks me into a lot of craziness actually. But in all seriousness on this occasion when he started to share with me his brother's story and talked about the help Clic Sargent provided, though completely different circumstances it hit close to home with my mum currently bravely fighting her own battle with cancer having been diagnosed just before Christmas last year. With two brothers of my own I can't imagine coming though what Dali has so when he said 'Dave I want you at my side for this one' there was only ever going to be one answer. I'm honoured that he asked me and so inspired for the road ahead."
We have set a huge target and so need your help. We are already training hard to be ready and hope in return we can rely on your support and generosity.
